The deer have had a tough winter already. These three are regular visitors to our feeding station. We have had as many as 20, but the last few years the numbers have declined to this year with our lowest number. It is still fun to have them come but at the price of corn it’s ok to have fewer deer. … Read More
Lake Superior Laker’s
Over 30″ of fresh snow and temp’s around zero, but the Laker’s are still operating on the Lake. They usually ship until about mid January but because of this cold weather we are getting in early December this could end their season earlier this year. Still is Fall on the North Shore
We still have quite few leaves left on the trees and lots of color still in the ground cover. Yes it’s getting colder but the hiking is good and it’s not nearly as busy. A great time to come to the North Shore.
Beginning of Fall Colors
Fall is beginning along the shore. We are just starting to notice a changing of the leaves and the weeds aren’t growing anymore. Our weekends are almost full but we have some rooms available during the week if you can come.

40 year reunion
These ladies were classmates 40 years ago when they graduated from UMD. This is the second time they have all gotten together at our Inn. All have stayed here but not always all together. They enjoyed a sailboat cruise out of Knife River on Saturday evening and did lots of hiking the other 2 days.
